Texana provides rehabilitation services to assist a person with a developmental disability, who has experienced a brain injury, with regaining or improving cognitive functioning. The person/family must be enrolled in the Texana Center Home and Community-Based Services (HCS) or Texas Home Living (TxHmL) Provider program and maintain Medicaid benefits.

A person enrolled in the Texas Home Living (TxHmL) Program has $1,000 annually to pay for dental services. The person/family can choose their dental provider. The dental provider must meet specific credentialing requirements prior to performing dental services.  Any costs exceeding $1,000 is the responsibility of the person/family. The person/family must be enrolled in the Texana Center Texas Home Living TxHmL) Provider program and maintain Medicaid benefits.

Employment Assistance: This service helps the person to prepare for employment by learning how to complete a job application, develop a resume, and practicing interview skills. Texana will also work to help identify employment opportunities based upon the person’s preferences and strengths and abilities.  Our qualified team will contact potential employers, and review the job duties required by the employer to ensure it will be a good match for the person.

Supported Employment: Once a person has a job, our team can provide support services to help them learn and perform the job duties that are required by the employer. To learn more about this program contact

Texana Center is a contracted Community Rehabilitation Provider for the Texas Workforce Commission.

Texana provides day services at our five Learning Centers located throughout our six county coverage area.  Our Learning Centers provide continuing education in skills training, support with activities of daily living, health and wellness services, training in socialization and communication skills to people with developmental disabilities. They also assist people with participation in integrated community activities.

If a person is in need of modifications to their home to improve access and functional use, the person/family has access to $7,500 (lifetime amount). Any minor home modification expense over $7,500 would be the responsibility of the person/family.

This service is offered to a family or caregiver to provide them relief from the day to day care they provide. These services are provided through a licensed provider who meets specific credentialing and is contracted with Texana Center.  The person/family has access to these services in order to address documented needs. Services include: Audiology Services, Dietary Services, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy

Adaptive aids are items or services necessary to assist an individuals to maintain function or to treat, rehabilitate, prevent or compensate for conditions resulting in disability or loss of function. Adaptive aids enable individuals with functional impairments to perform activities of daily living and/or to control the environment in which they live. There is a limit of $10,000 per year.
