Texana Learning Center in El Campo has closed a group home that served four residents and plans to sell the property in an effort to reduce costs and recoup losses from the Texas Legislature’s decision to cease funding their programs.
“Because the State of Texas did not fund a pay increase for community based centers and group homes, we have to consolidate and reduce costs wherever we can,” Texana CEO Shena Ureste said..
