The Children’s Center for Autism is an individualized and intensive Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) treatment program for children that have an Autism Spectrum Disorder. This clinic based program applies the principles of ABA to teach children skills in the areas of appropriate behaviors, self-care, communication, social interaction and more. Children have different needs and the intent is to provide intervention such that every child attains the skills they need to be successful across settings and become their own self-advocate.
ABA treatment may include one-on-one discrete trial training, natural environment training, independence training and social interaction training to meet each child’s individualized objectives. As a data-driven program, data on each child’s goals are collected daily and objectives are updated as progress is made. This information is provided to the family through consistent caregiver collaboration in order to maximize individual progress. Family involvement is strongly encouraged to maximize long-term success and can take place in the clinic, home, community and/or school setting.
