Texana Center’s Case Management Program completed the renewal audit for National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) Accreditation of Case Management for Long-Term Services and Supports (LTSS). Texana Center earned a perfect score, 100%, and received NCQA Accreditation for the next three years! Texana Center earned the initial accreditation in 2020. NCQA is an independent, not-for-profit organization dedicated to assessing and reporting on the quality of health-related programs. Earning the NCQA Accreditation of Case Management for LTSS is intended to help organizations to become more efficient, better integrate care, and focus on person-centered services.
The Texana Center Case Management Program operates under the Local IDD Authority Services Division of Texana Center, serves over 1,800 persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and employs a staff of 58 case managers, called Service Coordinators. Maribel Burgos, Authority Services Practice Manager, leads the NCQA Case Management Program, and develops and implements quality improvement processes for population assessments, quality measurement and reporting, and procedures. In its closing conference with Texana Center, NCQA recognized the program for its dedicated and knowledgeable staff, effective outreach and follow up for persons with complex needs, assessment of individual preferences and barriers, and an exemplary population assessment.
